There are many times that you want to remove certain parts of a recording or song such the applause or perhaps and advertisement or maybe the extraneous sounds such the microphone being clicked on or off.
iTunes makes it relatively easy to do the editing of songs actually cut out these parts, so for example, you could and let the songs play consecutively without interruption.
iTunes has a function so you can adjust the "Start" and "Stop" times of tracks. Thus by notating the tracks containing the sounds you wish to eliminate it makes it very easy to do. Therefore before playing the song you want to edit, simply note the track starting and stopping time using the time counter in the iTunes window.
Once you have done that, click on the song you want to edit. Now from the iTunes File menu, choose 'Get Info'.
Click on the Options tab in the information box that appears. There are boxes here to check for adjusting the Start and Stop times of the selected song. Just check which end of the song you want to edit and then type in the time-counter numbers you noted to have the song start and stop at those points.
iTunes makes it very easy for you to edit your song information. In fact you can even edit multiple songs at the same time!
Here we will describe how to edit song information.
One method of edit songs is to connect to the Internet, where you can retrieve information about the songs on a CD from the CD database (CDDB).
This information that was retrieved can also be changed so don't worry if it is not exactly how you would like it to be.
To do this manually yourself do the following:
1. Select the song you want to edit, then choose File > Get Info.
2. Click the Info tab.
3. Make your changes to the song information, then click OK.
Note that by default, when you change the information in iTunes it also changes the name of the file on your hard disk. However, you can, in fact avoid this by (ie make changes in iTunes without changing the files in the Finder). To accomplish this, just do the following:
- choose iTunes > Preferences,
- and in the Advanced pane, click to remove the check-mark next to Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized.
If you want to edit song information for Multiple Songs, the easiest way to this on iTunes is the select all the songs you want to edit while holding down the 'apple' button. This will cause all of the songs you clicked on to become highlighted. Once you have made your selections just right click on any one of the songs and select 'Get Info'. A warning will pop up to verify that you really want to edit multiple songs all at the same time, so just double-check your selection and then and just say yes when sure.
So never fear - if you are interest in either editing song or the the descriptive information of the track, Take a look at this Itunes Organizer.
